It’s good to include a list of contributors if you have several users who have published one or more posts on your WordPress site. The list shows each user’s biographical info (a profile description) and an image if the user has set up their profile in WordPress.
How to set up your profile:
- Log in to WordPress.
- Find your name at the top right of the black bar, click it, scroll down, and select ‘Edit My Profile’.
- Add or update your biographical info under ‘About Yourself’.
- Change your profile picture on Gravatar, or scroll down to upload an avatar from your computer.
How to add the contributors list:
- Click the + (block inserter) where you want the list to appear.
- Search for “CAES Contributors” and select it. The list appears right away.
- With the block selected, open the Settings sidebar (the gear icon) to adjust the Display Settings:
- Show contributors — choose With published posts only (the default) to list just the users who have published one or more posts, or All users to include everyone, even those who haven’t posted.
- Show post count — show the number of published posts next to each contributor, linked to their posts.
- Hide usernames — enter a comma-separated list of usernames to leave out (for example:
jsmith, jdoe). - Order by — sort the list by Last name (the default), First name, or Username.
- Show post titles — list each contributor’s published posts as links beneath their info.
Please note: This block builds the list from your site’s WordPress users. If you’d rather pull CAES personnel directly from the database, we have another option available — just let us know and we can help you set it up.
