Enrolling students in your self-paced course

Finished compiling your content into modules, quizzes, and assignments? Verified that all content is accessible following the guidelines in the course Faculty Resources and published your course?

Now let’s get your course ready for enrolling students. In Canvas, you will a self-enrollment link or code.

Enable Course Self-Enrollment

  1. Open your course
  2. Navigate to your course settings

  1. Scroll to the bottom of Course Details and click on more options

  1. Click the first box for Let students self-enroll by sharing with them a secret URL or code
  2. Click Update Course Settings
Click box to let student self-enroll, then click Update Course Details

What do I do next?

Copy the generated URL (uga.instructure.com/enroll/CourseID) and post the link in the appropriate location for your students to enroll, for example, on your program website or an invitation email.

CourseID will be a unique set of letters and numbers connected to your course

This is the only path for enrolling students in your course.
