What will OIT do? And what will I be responsible for?

OIT will provide the following:

  • We maintain the WordPress content management software, including all software updates and version upgrades.
  • We create and provide CAES- and Extension-branded website themes, which have robust search, social sharing buttons, author biography pages, and more.
  • We help with initial website set up, including site migration, if needed.
  • We create user accounts and permissions for you and any collaborators.
  • We provide tutorials and scheduled training.

Here are things you can do:

  • You can update your site as needed. You’ll create and publish posts, pages and and other web content after initial site launch.
  • You can make your site attractive by embedding images, videos, and using the provided patterns.
  • You can monitor your site visits and other web traffic using Siteimprove reports.

Support and training

We offer quarterly WordPress training and have many WordPress posts to learn how to modify your website and manage its content. All web content managers should take the Web Accessibility training.
