What is Siteimprove?

Siteimprove is web governance software that can help us better manage our websites. Siteimprove audits certain content quality issues like broken links, spelling errors or accessibility issues on all web pages, documents and images on our websites.

Using Siteimprove, the Office of Information Technology provides monthly and annual reports to content managers that allow for an ongoing evaluation of site content quality over time, as well as analytics reports to track visitors, page views, most popular pages and more.

What is web quality assurance?

Web quality assurance (QA) is an important responsibility if you have a website. Your website is a prominent part of the UGA College of Agricultural and Environmental Science’s public image. It enhances our reputation as an institute for higher learning, research and outreach. The accuracy, currency and accessibility of your content is critical and affects visitors’ perception of the organization. Examples of widespread quality assurance issues include misspellings and broken links.

Using the monthly quality assurance report, you can locate and fix accessibility issues and quality errors that could potentially damage the visitor experience. For more information on how to use the QA report, check out our blog post: Improving your website content with Siteimprove.

What are web analytics?

Web analytics provide information about how many people visited your website, what keywords they used to find your site, and how long they stayed on any given page. You can use analytics to track user behaviors to your site and monitor activity to your content. The reports are easy to read and make it simple to analyze your website statistics.
