If you work in Cooperative Extension, we imagine you may be feeling stress about how to transition your programming to online formats right now. Our OIT team has put together a list of tips and resources to help.

Zoom

If you are completely new to Zoom we have a few tips to get you started.

Once you get your feet wet, the CAES Service Desk or your Field Support Representative would be happy to meet with you one-on-one to help you get comfortable hosting a meeting.

MailChimp

Now is the time to invest in MailChimp, the e-newsletter service. One big reason – MailChimp allows you to track how many people open and read your newsletters! And you can report those as direct contacts in Georgia Counts.  We also have a complete DIY guide to MailChimp and a host of good help documentation.

We held a MailChimp 101 webinar on Friday, April 17, 2020. Listen to the recording by clicking the button below.

Blogs

If you are in a county, you already have a county website. So why would you need a blog?

In contrast to your county site, which is mostly static and unchanging, blogs can be a great way to share timely information like updates, alerts, and news. If something’s on your mind, other people are probably thinking about it, too.

Blogs can be set up with MailChimp so that every time you write a new post your subscribers will get an email. And blogs can feed directly into your official website, too.

Check out the awesome Madison county blog for inspiration. Good job Madison County!

Social Media

Now is a great time to make sure your social media channels are looking good! Things to do:

  • Most importantly: Post Frequently!
